LIST Program

This is a utility for viewing the contents of files. It is similar to the public domain BROWSE utility but has many enhancements. One significant enhancement is its ability to view files which contain very wiiiiiiide documents, such as the FHS box charts. This LIST utility can view documents which are up to 2048 characters wide. While FHS Generalised Box charts can easily exceed this, most charts and all FHS reports that have been "printed" to files should be viewable with this program.

In response to requests of FHS users, the 1997 Update to the Family History System follows the printing of a report or chart to a file by an opportunity to view the program listing using a user designated browser utility. This LIST program provides a nice alternative to the default program, the DOS EDIT command.
