FHSTTFL - Tiny Tafel Report Program

The TINY TAFEL is a summarization of information about Surname groups. Creating a Tiny Tafle file or report requires having an Index File in Surname sequence. The creation of Index Files is only possible in the registered version of the software.
  1. Screen Display shows Number of Surname Groups, Min Group Size, Min Interest Level, and Total # Records in all groups
  2. Minimum Interest Level and Minimum Surname Group Size are entered in Report Options instead of being entered in response to Bottom Line prompt; (note..Minimum Surname Group Size will not be used if Minimum Interest Level is >0)
  3. If the Index file does not use SOUNDEX for sequencing surnames then the report can be printed in either SOUNDEX or Surname sequence;
  4. If the Index File was created using Only SOUNDEX for sequencing the Surname then the "Surname Groups" are actually "Surname Soundex" groups. The surname shown in the tiny tafel is the Surname of the "oldest" member of the group and may not be the same for all members of the group;
  5. the Birth Places shown in the Tiny Tafel report are those for the "oldest" and "youngest" members of the surname group;
  6. you can optionally show the number of records in each surname group (the number will appear in parentheses before the surname in the tiny tafel report)
  7. When viewing/updating the Surname Table:
    • the number of the first table entry shown appears in the upper right corner of the viwing area in reverse video;
    • pressing ALT+(alpha key) will advance the list to the next entry whose surname begins with the alpha character
    • pressing ALT+zero will toggle the "DEL" character for all entries which have zeroes for both birth years and both interest levels
