FHSMLMG - Program for Exporting information to a MailMerge (Quote & Comma delimited ASCII) file
  1. Allows including First Record containing Descriptive Field Labels; (the labels are defined in new MAILMERG System Table)
  2. Optional Quotes for Blank Fields
  3. Exported records can be ALL in File, all in Relative Work file, or Selected records (from SELECT WRK file)
  4. Records can be exported in ID sequence or in INDEXed sequence
  5. You may request that records for a husband and wife be combined into a single MailMerge record; (husband and wife must both be selected for export, must not be "Divorced", and wife must be using husband's surname; i.e. USEOWN flag in Name Record is not set to "Y")
  6. When combining records of husband and wife and not all records are being exported, you have the options of automatically including among the selected records the "current" spouse of the selected individuals, and of limiting the spouses to those who are still living; (The purpose of these options is to allow you to begin with a SELECT.WRK file of living descendants of an individual and create an address file which includes the current, living, spouse.)
  7. You May request that married female have surname of most recent husband; (This substitution will not take place if the "USE OWN Surname" flag is "Y" in the female's name record; also, if you request to combine the records of current husband & wife, and the wife does not have USEOWN="Y", then the wife will implicitly have the husband's surname because there is only one surname field in the MailMerge record)
  8. May include TITLE field (Mr., Mrs., etc.); TITLE values taken from report variables: TITL00, TITL01, ... , TITL06)
  9. May include Relationship Label
  10. May include Gender code (gender code value taken from Global Report Table GENDER)
  11. May include (Most Recent) Residence address
  12. Running totals shown during creation of file include the number of records in the MailMerge file, number of Name Records exported, number of combined (husband & wife) records, number of records showing marriage date/place, number of dates, number of Place Names, & number of residence addresses
  13. Listing of MailMerge file will wrap long lines to indented continuation lines
