FHSGDCM - program to Export/Import family information using GEDCOM format transfer files(See document 97GEDCOM for detailed information about features of the new GEDCOM program.)
- Uses GEDCOM system table for data TAGs. The GEDCOM table provides 5 sets of tags supporting the following styles of GEDOM file::
- FHS - 2 character tags used by the original (1986) FHS GEDCOM utility, previously only available as an option provided to registered users...supports all types of information in FHS family file;
- PAF 2.0 - 4 character tags for Name and Marriage record information (introduced by implementation of GEDCOM by PAF in 1986, later supported by FHS in 1988),
- PAF 2.1 - support changes to GEDCOM introduced in 1988 by new version of PAF; later supported by FHS in 1990
- LDS 5.5 - supports modifications proposed by December 1995 draft of GEDCOM specifications. Provides for exporting Addresses, Events, and adoption flags.
- Custom - a set of user modifiable tags that can be used to produce GEDCOM datasets employing any of the rules for constructing the previous styles of GEDCOM files;
- Records may be exported in ID Sequence, Relationship Sequence (determined by previously created Relationship WRK file), or in Indexed sequence (of a previously created Index file).
- During Export, you can request that ALL CAPS text fields be converted to Mixed Case.
- Allows exporting to or importing from multi-diskette GEDCOM files
- Option (F6) for printing listing of .GED file allows printing in Outline format or as it appears in the GED file.
- Option (F7) provides simple means for direct conversion of "short format" address records to "long format" address records without having to use Export/Import
